Mission Statement

Restore Mass Ave works to re-grow the canopy of major trees that made the part of Massachusetts Avenue, NW, now known as Embassy Row, a world attraction a century ago. We arrange for the planting of new trees, replacement of dying trees, and care for all new and vulnerable trees. We promote the restoration of historic landscape. "Re-greening" one of America's last Grand Avenues, reduces pollution of water and air, and brings energy efficiency to the historic Beaux Arts mansions, which include international missions, on this national landmark. We aspire to be a model community effort for urban forest renewal in historic cultural landscapes.
