Mission Statement

The Department of Information Technology, or DoIT, provides technology services and policy planning for Seattle's citizens and City of Seattle departments and employees.
The City of Seattle is committed to promoting a technology healthy community. The mission of the City's Community Technology Program is to ensure digital inclusion for all, so that residents and neighborhoods have the information technology capacity needed for civic and cultural participation, employment, lifelong learning, and access to essential services. Description

The Community Technology Program develops and promotes programs and policites to close the digital divide and further digital inclusion and use fo technology for community building. Programs include the IT Indicators community survey project, public Internet computers, Technology Matching Fund, cable broadband for Seattle non-profits, and a variety of community outreach and education efforts.
