Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide quality care for patients faced with a life limiting illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person's life through pain and symptom control, emotional and spiritual support.

We believe the patient and family are an integral decision making member of the Hospice Team in planning care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death but assists the patient and family in living with a life limiting illness.

Description

Volunteers are an important member of the Hospice Team. They provide encouragement and companionship to our patients and families. Caring people who believe in the Hospice philosophy are given a training program to better enable them to provide emotional support to patients and familes. Other services performed by volunteers include;

Providing companionship for patient or family, such as reading a book, playing a game, or just being a good listener.

Running errands.

Performing clerical duties in the office.

Educating the community about the value of Hospice Volunteers
