Mission Statement

Our mission is to teach the youth we lead the life skills and technical abilities to survive and become functioning parts of society, within the framework of our parent organization, the Boy Scouts of America, and to give back to our community in the forms of charity and entertainment.

Description

Reindeer Manor opened for its first season in 1974 by the Red Oak Volunteer Fire Department. Over the next few years several other charitable organizations operated the manor as a fund raiser until 1981 when Boy Scout Troop 1 out of Duncanville took over operations and has been running it ever since.

Skills such as welding, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, and any other tradeskill is needed, either for work, or informal instruction to our youth volunteers.

Drugs and alcohol are strictly forbidden on our premises. All volunteers subject to criminal background checks, for violent crimes, drugs, or offenses against minors. These precautions are to protect the Scouts that we work with and the public that we entertain.
