Mission Statement

In The Image links gently used clothing, housewares, furniture, and appliances with families in need in a manner that enhances dignity, embraces choice, encourages participation, and builds a community of diversity. Everything offered through In The Image is completely free to those in need.

In The Image is a faith-based organization with the sole purpose of assisting those in need. We are located in a community where most families are struggling to stay above the poverty line. Since 1987, In The Image has followed a philosophy in the Bible to serve the "least of these" in our community. (Matthew 25:40) As a community organization, it has given witness to a mission that "provides free clothing, furniture, and household items" to the poorest of the poor without judgment or expectation of any kind. At the same time, these often forgotten people have been offered the more important gifts of dignity, choice, and the opportunity to add meaning to their life by volunteering their time where they are served and supported. Families and individuals with few options and no support system benefit greatly from the care, compassion, and generosity of In The Image. Clothing and house wares are donated which is a generous gift from our community. These items go directly to stock the shelves and racks of our store. They are then distributed to more than 800 families and individuals in need each week. The people we serve are able to choose the items they need at no charge to them. Because we choose not to charge for what has been given freely to us, we can make a positive impact on families and individuals who are stuck in poverty and struggling to make ends meet. In The Image is a unique blend of the heart of our community sharing its good fortune with those in need.
