Mission Statement

Project Play! is a grassroots organization of Pacifica residents who would like to create a community-built playground that is interactive, fun and safe, and attracts children ages 0-12, at Frontierland Park in Pacifica.

Description

Project Play! will build the playground over a five-day period, June 13-17, 2001, with the help of over 2000 volunteers. Preparations for the Build Days are currently underway and include committees that are fundraising; publicizing the project; organizing donations of tools, food and materials; purchasing materials; planning childcare and meals for volunteers for the Build Days; and organizing build volunteers.

I helped build the Pacifica co-op nursery school playground and it was my best volunteer experience. I wish this organization was larger so that I could find more opportunities like it to volunteer with where I currently live.
