Please review the program details below and let us know if you are interested in getting involved. Food Rescue Driver Volunteer Program Food Rescue Driver volunteers will help our staff team to combat food insecurity by helping to bring much needed food resources directly to the communities that we serve. PATH partners with local food rescue agencies, grocery stores, and restaurants to rescue excess food and then distribute it to individuals and families that are food insecure. Food Recue Drivers commit to a regularly scheduled weekly food rescue shift, where they are assigned a day and time to pick up food donations for delivery to a local PATH site. This position is ideal for individuals who would like to help support individuals and families impacted by homelessness, and at the same time help reduce food waste. Help PATH OC support people experiencing homelessness! Our case workers at our interim sites work hard to provide needed items and services for our PATH clients. Given their busy schedules, it’s very important that donations are easily accessible and readily available for case workers to obtain the items they need for their guests. Volunteers help by sorting, labeling, and organizing donated items to be distributed to guests at our interim sites. They process items based on type and quality and arrange them on shelves or racks for easy access. Donated items may include clothes, hygiene items or household goods. Opportunity Requirements and Important Notes Please wear comfortable shoes you don’t mind walking around in. You must be able to stand and walk around for 2 hours, bend and lift 20 pounds. Click "I want to help" for more information regarding available shifts, times, and how to sign up!
