Mission Statement

Main Street Canoga Park will create a thriving downtown commercial district by developing an inclusive Main Street organization that reflects neighborhood and business diversity, builds upon the area's arts, culture and history and strengthens and attracts neighborhood-serving and destination businesses.

Description

Main Street Canoga Park is a new nonprofit organization created to carry out the Main Street Program in the commercial area. Canoga Park is one of two areas in the City of Los Angeles, which were certified by the State of California in July 2000,as California Main Street Communities. The Main Street Program uses a Four Point Approach to revitalizing older commercial districts such as ours. Four Point Approach: 1.Organization means getting everyone working toward the same goal. 2.Promotion means selling the image and promise of Main Street to all prospects. 3.Design means getting Main Street into top physical shape. 4.Economic Restructuring means finding a new purpose for Main Street enterprises.
