Mission Statement

To promote the welfare and humane treatment of animals and to be an advocate on their behalf

Description

Founded in 1929, the Chester County SPCA(CCSPCA) is totally independent of any other animal welfare organization and does not receive county, state, or federal tax funding. Instead, the CCSPCA is supported through voluntary contributions and fund-raising events such as the annual Benefit Horse Show, the Walk for Paws, and the Forget-Me-Not gala.

Committed to providing services that solve the problems of animal suffering due to cruelty, neglect, ignorance, and overpopulation, we approach these problems not just through animal control, but also (and more importantly) through proactive programs aimed at the causes of animal problems.

An award-winning shelter, the CCSPCA is one of the finest, cleanest, most carefully run shelters in the country. This year we will take in over 4,000 homeless, unwanted, or abused animals from every corner of Chester County and beyond, from the most affluent areas to the most economically disadvantaged.
