Mission Statement

"Working together to eliminate the threat of

homelessness and fulfill the

promise of affordable housing for all Kentuckians."

Description

As the only statewide advocacy organization for issues of homelessness and affordable housing in Kentucky, we take the responsibility of educating state legislators and advocating for more affordable housing in Kentucky very seriously. We were established in 1987 to serve as the unified voice for low income housing issues. In addition, we administer a statewide AmeriCorps program called Getting Things Done for Kentucky’s Homeless and a statewide Technical Assistance Program funded through federal grants to help housing nonprofits develop the necessary skills and capabilities to become and remain vital.

You will find more information about these programs as well as information on our advocacy work and annual conference on the other links in this website. We have also tried to include information for people who are seeking housing resources in their communities. HHCK does not provide direct services, but rather we work to bring together social service and affordable housing nonprofits and partners from across the state to learn from each other, increase capacity, and influence policy.

Please become a member of HHCK, either as an organization or an individual. We welcome input and ideas from all of our member organizations as we embark on the challenge that our board of directors charted during HHCK’s early days - to eliminate homelessness and fulfill the promise of affordable housing for all Kentuckians.
