Mission Statement

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul leads women and men to join together spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam and patron St. Vincent de Paul.

The thrift stores mission is to raise funds and awareness to support the programs and services of the Society.

Description

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has several programs and services to help the poor and needy in the greater St. Louis area. These programs range from utility assistance, a car program, food pantries, criminal justice programs, preventing homelessness, furniture program and others.

The thrift stores offer free clothing, furniture and household goods to poor & needy through a voucher program run by over 2,000 volunteers in the community. In addition the stores serve tens of thousands of other paying customers by providing low cost, and diverse products they need and desire. Like other thrift stores in the community, St. Vincent de Paul stores sell value priced clothing, household goods, furniture, small appliances, books and new mattresses. St. Vincent de Paul also picks up furniture and household goods to keep the stores stocked with donations.
