Mission Statement

Concern for Kids, Ltd. (CFK) stands in the gap for the little children caught up by a loveless adult world in conflict. We specialize in going to dangerous places where fighting and armed conflicts causes kids to become victims. Orphaned, neglected and often physically wounded, children living in some of the world’s harshest areas are suffering and merely existing without any knowledge of a God who loves and cares for them. Our workers focus on the needs of abandoned kids and have done so since our inception in 1992. Helping widows in war ravaged regions is part and parcel of our calling. We seek to provide them with jobs and skills that lead to self-sufficiency. No child should be forgotten. And certainly, God’s concern for kids should be expressed everyplace little ones are neglected and abused.

Description

CFK exists for one reason--to partner with you and your church or organization to see whole communities transformed by the power of the love of God. We are focused on reaching the Kurds of Northern Iraq. This people group--the Kurds--is strategic to reaching the nation of Iraq. We are committed to energizing, equipping and training a spiritual indigenous workforce that will help usher in the New Life of Freedom. Our master plan involves the adoption of towns and villages by local US churches and the adoption of whole families by Sunday School classes and the adoption of widows and orphaned children by individuals or families across the country.

We are burdened for a world of 6.5 billion people and what God wants to do about their need for Christian charity and love. We are not interested in trying to get God involved in what we are doing, we want to be involved with Him in what He is doing in those Fields that He says are already white unto the Harvest. Because CFK cannot reach the entire world, we are positioned to impact some 35 million Kurds with the love of Christ.

Concern for Kids exists for the purpose of modeling Christ to the Muslim world. By focusing our efforts and reaching the whole village first, we are able to impact and remain in that region of the world that often opposes any organization that seeks to introduce them to Jesus Christ.

After much travail, Concern for Kids was birthed in 1992 to reach the unreached and universally despised Kurdish people and their currently no-existent nation of Kurdistan. Since their roots can be traced back to the tribe of Elam, the Scriptures has much to say about them and their present status in the Middle East.

We believe God cares for the Kurds and has a plan for their lives. But without your involvement and participation, millions will die without knowing that Christ loves them. Over the last 18 years, God has directed us in the various phases of our ministry to these northern tribes.

Concern for Kids was founded in March, 1992 by Robert Anderson and a hand full of workers. For these past many years, Robert has implemented missionary ventures and projects throughout the region that were both unconventional and innovative. Robert is a former IBM programmer whose thinking centered around answering tough questions by developing solutions to the programmer’s focus of "If...then." Robert knew IF he could understand the actual problems of the region, then God could direct their steps with good success. Accustomed to solving software issues by pushing the envelope, Robert has refocused his creative and often ground-breaking thought processes for the cause of world evangelization.

Concern for Kids belongs to God. Our Lord has chosen to bless the ministry with success. Over the past 18 years, Robert and scores of volunteers have used their own retirement income to fund the ministry. In 2001 while contemplating Psalm 90:9-12, the Andersons came to the conclusion that the ministry is bigger and more important than the two of them and that God wanted to move the work into a new phase of ministry.
