Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Domestic Violence and AIDS Mission of New Jersey 501(c)3 Nonprofit Corporation is a virtual non profit organization whose primary goal is to provide services to those effected by domestic
violence and AIDS. We are faith based and refer domestic violence abusers and victims to counseling, prayer and guidance, as well as provide a support system that will ultimately enable abusers and victims to establish a fresh start at life. The Domestic Violence and AIDS Mission of New Jersey will approach these tragic life issues in a new and radical manner displaying tremendous passion through various projects, such as The Real Man Campaign: Man to Man Advocacy Program, which is a voluntary outreach to male abusers, working in conjunction with the first National 24 Hour Abuser Hotline (888)SOS-ABUSER. Both programs will utilize male advocates for male abusers, as a breakthrough method in domestic violence advocacy. Other services will be workshops, public speaking, group sessions, educational programs, support and guidance, as well as many other forms of advocacy and outreach. We believe change begins when one persons vision is seen and mirrored in the eyes of others, then acted upon to change the world in a powerful and positive manner.
The goal of the Domestic Violence and AIDS Mission of New Jersey 501(c)3 Nonprofit Corporation is to eliminate domestic violence and AIDS by utilizing new programs. One main focus is to identify abusers who are ready to change their lives from violent to non violent and offer a positive support system to ultimately avoid more lives being lost. The focus is different from the court ordered 'anger management' in the compassion approach versus conviction approach. Mentors will strive to approach abusers in a manner that will allow them the freedom to express what many may have suppressed for long periods of time. There may have been issues of child molestation, child abuse, witnessing of domestic violence in their childhood home, some abusers may have been victims themselves of domestic violence, etc. The 'youth division' of The Real Man Campaign will identify abusers at a young age and guide them through mentorship with compassion, into a non violent lifestyle. It is extremely important to address domestic violence in abusers at the earliest age and stage. This will allow the victim and the abuser to lead a much more productive and healthy life, as well as may be the saving of a life which could be taken in a violent rage, if not intervened.
Currently most abusers are ordered to attend 'anger management' in lieu of jail time. Domestic Violence and AIDS Mission of New Jersey is establishing the crucial volunteer services for domestic violence abusers, so that abusers have the opportunity to seek help before the case gets to court and before they are 'ordered' to attend 'anger management' or before they are actually jailed and especially before they contemplate a murder or murder/suicide.
The Domestic Violence and AIDS Mission of New Jersey 501(c)3 Nonprofit Corporation has established the first Nationwide 24 Hour Abuser Hotline (888)SOS-ABUSER, which is a crucial tool to intervene in time of need for the abusers that want help and are seeking a positive change before a life is lost.
AIDS is a global pandemic and will be addressed by the Domestic Violence and AIDS Mission of New Jersey in an aggressive, radical approach through awareness campaigns, referrals to counseling, prayer and public service announcements.
