Mission Statement

The founding and primary purpose of the Lakeland Choral Society is the establishment and continuance of a chorus of adult singers dedicated to the performance of significant choral liter­ature in the Polk County area of Central Florida. This purpose was expanded in 1997 to include advisory and administrative support for a Children's Choral Society in the same geographical area. A secondary purpose is the awarding of financial assistance in the form of scholarships for post-secondary education for the study of vocal music.

Description

The Lakeland Choral Socity is an auditioned group of around 80 volunteer adult choral singers, from Polk County, who are dedicated to performing significant works of choral literature. We are an active group -- our concert year begins with auditions in the early fall, continues with weekly rehearsals, and results in several performances each year, in a variety of locations.
