Mission Statement

That people whose lives are affected by crime may experience justice, mercy and healing.

Description

In recent decades, the number of people in prison has skyrocketed. Each year in Michigan thousands of prisoners are released. Each individual re-entering our community needs support to establish a new life.

Since 1980, Criminal Justice Chaplaincy (CJC) has been helping people whose lives are affected by crime.

At CJC the returning citizen and their family find the support they need to re-enter society, and knowledge and strength to change behaviors and reduce recidivism. Our whole community is safer and better as a result. CJC provides direct services to individuals and families, and utilizes volunteers as mentors and in other supportive roles.
