Mission Statement

To positively impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs based on The First Tee's Nine Core Values that promote character development, leadership opportunities, life enhancing values, and healthy choices through the game of golf.

Description

In 1997 the World Golf Foundation partnered with the United States Golf Association (USGA), the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), the Professional Golf Association of American (PGA), and the Augusta National Golf Tournament, to start a nationwide initiative to positively impact the lives of young people. In addition to hosting leadership camps and golf tournaments, The First Tee also offers college scholarships.

The First Tee of Hammond, established in 1999 at Lost Marsh Golf Course, strives to impact the lives of the youth in Northwest Indiana and the surrounding areas. Within the last year our participation numbers have more than tripled, bring golf and valuable life skills to children who may normally not have access to this remarkable game.

We provide affordable golf lessons and life skills to children between the ages of 4 and 17. We also work with youth groups in Northwest Indiana and the surrounding areas; including The Boys and Girls Club, The YMCA, and the YWCA.
