Mission Statement

Helping Hands for Wildlife is a fully certified & State licensed non-profit organization 501(c)3 committed to the care of Connecticut's orphaned & injured wildlife. Through the efforts of our staff of volunteers, we are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing healthy animals back into the wild for a second chance at life & to raising public awareness of their role in nature. Our funding comes solely from private donations: we are not supported by any state or federal funds.

Description

Most of our animals that we take care of are orphanages, mostly mammals. Most are found by the general public. We raise these animals from newborn to an appropriate age of when they can go back into the wild. We become their mother for a short period of time. We raise each species the way we believe their own mother would have done. These animals are the ones you see in your own back yard. We also take in some adult species that have been harmed/injured in some way and rehabilate them so they can return to the wild.
