Mission Statement

Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1988 by dedicated parents, physicians and friends. Our mission is to improve the treatment, quality of life and the long term outlook for children with brain and spinal cord tumors through research, support, education, and advocacy to families and survivors.

Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation’s (CBTF) Survivor Program works with childhood brain and spinal cord tumor survivors across the country. Many survivors face employment and social challenges. As leaders in the community, the CBTF Young Professionals Group (YPG) addresses both of these issues. Through quarterly Survivor ↔YPG events, they work to build a stronger survivor community, serve as mentors, and increase survivors’ connections with the professional community.

Description

The group consists of highly motivated young professionals who are familiar with and sensitive to the survivor community. Although their primary goal is not to raise money, they do participate in the coordination of one fundraising activity. Throughout the year, CBTF also has family events. The YPG group is instrumental in both the behind the scenes activity coordination and volunteers the day of the event in a variety of capacities.
