Mission Statement

Concord Child Care Center, Inc. (CCCC) is a non-profit organization providing education and family support services to low-income families living or working in Concord. The agency, established in 1972, has broad community support and operates in buildings owned and maintained by the City of Concord. Concord Child Care Center was one of the first programs in the City of Concord to receive national accreditation status. The agency has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 2002.

Our programs currently serve more than 150 families each year. The CCCC Board of Directors has maintained the original agency mission while continuing to add funding and programs to expand services for children of low-income families.

We believe that the families we serve need not only the programs that we offer, but the support to develop the tools to become self-sufficient when they are no longer enrolled in our programs. We are dedicated to enhancing families' self-sufficiency and providing children with a foundation to be successful.

Our Programs, Services and More
Since becoming a Child Development Center in 1972, Concord Child Care Center has worked to grow and expand this essential program. Today, the Concord Child Care Center follows educational requirements of the California Department of Education, Head Start and the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is continually growing. Concord Child Care has participated in the Child and Adult Care Food Program since 1972. Concord Child Care provides breakfast, lunch and snacks to all enrolled children. Concord Child Care Center is a non-discrimination agency. The USDA prohibits discrimination in all of its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability or political beliefs. The agency welcomes and accommodates children with disabilities

Concord Child Care Center became a partner for the Head Start Project in 2000. Since then, we have offered the same type of programs and services as all Head Start programs to expectant parents and families with infants and toddlers through age 3 as part of Early Head Start. Concord Child Care Center's Head Start and Early Head Start Project is currently serving 13 infants and toddlers and 20 preschoolers in the City of Concord.

Head Start is the most successful, longest-running national school readiness program in the United States. It provides comprehensive education, medical and dental services, mental health services, nutrition, social services, full inclusion of young children with disabilities, and parent involvement services to low-income children age 3 to 5 and their families. Nationwide, more than 25 million preschool-aged children have benefited from Head Start. Throughout California, Head Start serves more than 98,000 children.

Community partnerships continue to be a primary focus at Concord Child Care Center as we strive to provide our children and families with a well-rounded array of services and programs to prepare them for success. We continue to build on many active partnerships and collaborations with local cities, school districts, county departments, colleges and universities, social service agencies, health programs and other community agencies.
