Mission Statement

The mission of Enterprise is to engage and empower San Francisco Bay Area youth to discover career opportunities and cultivate their individual interests through: training, guidance and employment experiences in a diverse and supportive learning environment.

Description

EHSS is a San Francisco based non-profit that engages and empowers Bay Area high school students to develop the skills for their futures through job readiness training, employment, and career exploration. We provide students with the capabilities necessary to be successful employees and give back to their communities through the following programs:

Job Referral Program - The cornerstone of Enterprise, operating year-round to create after-school, weekend and summer employment opportunities for San Francisco high school students.

Pathways Program - Providing San Francisco high school youth with comprehensive job-readiness training, skills development workshops, and work experience in a safe and supportive environment.

This Way Ahead - A collaborative project between EHSS and Gap Inc., offering underserved San Francisco high school students a job-readiness training program and internships at Gap and Old Navy stores, supported by one-on-one job coaching

Job Assist - On school site employment services and college and career counseling at Balboa High School, Phillip and Sala Buron High School, International Studies Academy, and Thurgood Marshall High School.

College Career Counseling - A unique program to assist students in educational and career choice through personal reflection, educational and occupational exploration and decision making.

Youth Ambassador Program - Opportunities for youth to develop leadership, organizational, and communication skills while incorporating the Youth Voice to better serve Enterprise’s mission.

Career Exploration Program - Offering high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to "try on" a career during a seven week summer internship.

Summer Gardening Program - Designed for high school students to gain valuable job skills while learning stewardship of the environment.

Junior Caddie Program - Providing meaningful work and leadership opportunities for youth through the game of golf.

Our staff is dedicated to student success and creating meaningful partnerships with employers. Our services are free and are offered through our office in down town San Francisco.

The San Francisco Fall Antiques Show was established in 1982 as the major fundraising event for Enterprise for High School Students. The SFFAS is ranked among the top such fairs in the world. The event includes the show itself featuring approximately 60 international dealers, a loan exhibition, a lecture series, and related benefit parties.
