The mission of Children's Medical Center is to make life better for children. The mission of the Department of Volunteer Services is to make life better for children by providing committed, well-trained, caring volunteers to serve the non-technical needs of patients, their families and visitors. The purpose of the Department of Volunteer Services is to augment the work of hospital personnel so that the employee may have more time to focus directly on the care of patients.

The Department of Volunteer Services strives to create an environment where individuals from all areas of the community are encouraged to donate their time and talent to the patients and families served at Children's Medical Center Dallas.

Description

The Short Term Volunteer Program at Children's Medical Center Dallas is a special volunteer program specifically designed for individuals (age 18 or older) who are able to donate large chunks of time for a few (three to six) months. This may be due to unemployment of a temporary life-change. The Short Term Volunteer Program only offers opportunities in clerical settings (no patient contact opportunities) in various areas of the hospital. You must commit to at least 8 hours per week. Opportunities are available Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
