The Night Ministry compassionately provides housing, health care, outreach, spiritual care, and social services to adults and youth who struggle with homelessness, poverty and loneliness. We accept individuals as they are and offer support as they seek to improve their lives. We invite others to join this hope-filled work.
OUTREACH & HEALTH MINISTRY: Six nights each week, The Night Ministry operates a customized bus that visits 6 Chicago neighborhoods, 3 times a week. Staff, including a registered nurse, outreach professionals, a HIV Tester and trained volunteers, provide basic health care and health education, screenings, counseling, referrals and hospitality to thousands of persons on the nighttime streets. OPEN DOOR SHELTERS: The Night Ministry operates two Interim shelters for youth ages 14-21, including pregnant and parenting youth. Staff and trained volunteers create a temporary home, helping the youth to set goals and plan their next steps toward self-sufficiency. Individualized services are provided in the areas of counseling, education, career development, health care, and housing. THE CRIB: The Night Ministry operates a low-threshold, overnight program for ages 18-24. Services include overnight sleeping accommodations, shower and laundry facilities and two hot meals plus a bagged lunch per each night of stay.
