Serving over 6,000 individuals each year, ADFAC's mission is to help local impoverished families become stable and self-sufficient through a variety of direct assistance and educational programs.

Description

Founded in 1987, Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) is a community-based United Way agency that addresses the diverse needs of low-income East Tennessee families. The Affordable Housing Program of ADFAC offers two main kinds of assistance:

-help for low-income families that own substandard homes in need of repair, and

-help for low-income families that wish to become first-time homeowners
