The mission of the Volunteer Center of Camden County is to involve Camden County Residents more effectively in meaningful volunteer service at non- profit agencies in Camden County, while enhancing community resources and empowering members of the community, by providing opportunities to make a significant contribution to the well being of the county. The Volunteer Center of Camden County serves as an advocate for volunteers and catalyst for volunteerism, provides leadership and support for volunteer efforts, and is the central clearinghouse for volunteerism in the community.
The Volunteer Center connects families, individuals, businesses and corporations with opportunities to serve agencies and events in need of volunteers. The Volunteer Center helps build volunteer capacity and supports volunteer events.
Volunteers play a vital role in the life of our community. Volunteers in soup kitchens serve the hungry; literacy volunteers help adults learn to read; and volunteers serve in times of disaster by providing an important service that affects the quality of life for everyone.
In these challenging times, the role Camden County volunteers play in delivering vital services to our most vulnerable populations continues to grow. Funding and other resources are decreasing, leaving service gaps that non-profit agencies are relying on volunteers to fill.
The Volunteer Center of Camden County has active partnerships with over 150 non-profit organization volunteer programs in Camden County. There are volunteer opportunities for everyone, ranging from serving meals to the needy, to sitting on a non-profit Board of Directors. If you would like to get involved and make your community a better place to live, work and play...please contact the Volunteer Center of Camden County today.
If you have skills that can be used by a not-for-profit organization, or want to make a difference in the life of a child by participating in a reading program, mentoring a teen, providing a Thanksgiving dinner for a working but poor family, serving on a community agency board of directors, or maybe you have the technology skills to help a community economic development program, the Volunteer Center of Camden County can help you get connected to thousands of service opportunities in the community.
