Mission Statement
The mission of the Chicago Conservation Corps is to recruit, train and support a network of volunteers who work together to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods and schools through environmental service projects that protect our water, clean our air, restore our land and save energy.
Description
Volunteers receive twenty hours of training in conservation issues and techniques that can be applied in a community setting to make a measurable impact on neighborhood environments. After completing the training, volunteers write project proposals that entail involving community members. Project examples range from organizing and leading composting workshops, cycling events, rain barrel and compost bin distributions, weatherization workshops and recycling and clean up events in neighborhoods and festivals.
You care. Do something. We'll help.
