Mission Statement

Jungle Friends works toward creating a better life for the unfortunate primates who find themselves hapless victims in a captive situation. We work in unison and cooperatively with other credible animal sanctuaries, primate associations and animal protection organizations.

Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, located on 12 acres in Gainesville, Florida. Jungle Friends is accredited by the American Sanctuary Association and The Association of Sanctuaries. We rescue and offer a permanent, safe haven for monkeys from around the United States who have been abused, confiscated by authorities, retired from research, or who are ex-pets.

I've been a weekly volunteer at Jungle Friends since February 2011. It is a wonderful organization run by wonderful people and becoming a volunteer there has been one of the best things I've ever done. They gladly accept new volunteers and any help they receive really does go a long way. If you like learning new skills, meeting great people and helping out monkeys, this is a great place.

Jungle Friends is a wonderful place to volunteer. There are always lots of things that need to be done. I have volunteered here on a regular basis for years. Most volunteers come to help the monkeys. I come to help the people helping the monkeys.
