The Mission of St. Marks United Church of Christ is:
To reach up in Worship of God
To reach out in Evangelism
To reach beyond ourselves in Mission
To reach in to grow in Christian Discipleship
To achieve this Vision and Mission we strive to:
We reach up in Worship
Preaching to teach and inspire
A music program for all ages always striving for excellence
A Worship Service that is welcoming to all
A Worship Service which combines the best of Classic Music and Liturgical styles with the best of Contemporary Music and Styles
We reach out in Evangelism
We reach beyond ourselves in Mission
We reach in, to grow in Discipleship
We commit ourselves to ongoing stewardship education
We commit ourselves to ongoing learning about the Bible and about our faith with Sunday School, Bible Studies, and other opportunities.
We commit ourselves to ongoing fellowship learning to play together
We commit ourselves to ongoing prayer
We look to continually grow in understanding and practicing good stewardship.
We seek to create an environment which welcomes and nurtures children and youth
We look to continue to offer what we already do with our Clothes Closet, Soup Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, Repair Affair, as well as other community groups.
We look to create and maintain a Mission Committee (team) which will help us focus on an outward mission and continually find new opportunities for us to serve locally, nationally, and even outside the country.
We look to reestablish and generously support national offerings such a One Great Hour of Sharing, Neighbors in Need, etc.
