Wishes for the Sky is a fiscally sponsored project of Springboard for the Arts.

Springboard for the Arts mission is to cultivate a vibrant arts community by connecting artists with the skills, contacts, information and services they need to make a living and a life.

Description


Wishes for the Sky is a free, experiential, public art experience at Harriet Island in Saint Paul that celebrates the arrival of spring, environmental sustainability, and personal and collective wish-making. Entering its fourth year, this innovative art festival has become a signature Earth Day celebration for the Twin Cities. Inspired by the ancient Asian traditions of flying wishes on kites, it is contemporary art integrating music, temporary sculpture, poetry, interactive sound collage, visual arts, and public kite-flying.
