Mission Statement

Family Gateway, in cooperation with the religious community, private sector, and governmental entities, provides comprehensive services to children whose families are in crisis: counseling, temporary housing, job search and placement assistance, transitional living apartments, and community transition services. The program offers training and counseling which are intended to restore dignity, stability and self-sufficiency to the family unit. All programs and environments are designed to create an atmosphere of emotional, social and economic empowerment.

Description

At Family Gateway Center, we help approximately 150 families per year through our services and programs. The organization was created as part of a solution to the growing problem of family homelessness in Dallas. Gateway Apartments provides 25 units of transitional housing where families may reside for up to one year. Families will find job readiness classes and job search assistance through our Gateway To Jobs program. The Family Treasures Resale Shop allows residents to particiapte in our Customer Service Training Program.
