Changing Course is an organization dedicated
to serving people in need.
We believe that everyone has the right
to be valued as individuals,
to not be judged because of past mistakes
to have the opportunity to know that
they can change the direction of their lives.
At Changing Course,
the staff is dedicated to programs
that provide a chance to learn teamwork,
effective communication skills,
decision-making skills,
goal setting,
leadership skills
and self-worth.
We believe that through positive reinforcement,
a person can be
motivated to think about the decisions they make and learn
to make better choices.
We believe that with a positive attitude
and positive role models
that anyone can see that their situation
is not all that life has to offer
and that their life is not hopeless.
Description
We work with at-rish youth, juvenile probationers, schools, churches, colleges and schools to provide challenge course opportunites to develop leadership, trust, effective communication skills and a sense of self worth.
We are beginning a new program June 2010 to provide home construction training to young adults. This program will teach our participants many areas of home construction.
With classroom and on site training these participants will build a home. This home will then be sold to qualifying low income families.
