Mission Statement
Walk Now For Autism Speaks Arkansas will host its inaugural walk at the Clinton Center in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 2, 2010. Autism Speaks has donated $420,000 to date for autism research at the Arkansas Children's Hospital, as well as $25,000 for the summer T.R.I.P. program to take individuals with autism to parks in 2010.
Autism Speaks funds research to better treat, diagnose, and improve the welfare of the millions of individuals with autism. In a secondary capacity Autism Speaks also funds family services to help those with autism.
1:110 children are now diagnosed with autism in the U.S., according to the 2009 Centers for Disease Control's latest report.
