Description

For nearly 50 years, the Legal Aid Society of Orange County has been providing civil legal services to low-income individuals and seniors throughout Orange County. LASOC is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that was founded by a group of local attorneys in 1958 for the purpose of responding to legal needs of the County's poor and elderly.

In 1984, the Legal Aid Society of Orange County successfully competed for and received a grant from the Legal Services Corporation which then allowed the agency to expand its service area to include southeast Los Angeles. We have offices in Santa Ana, Anaheim, and in Compton and Norwalk, where we are known as Community Legal Services.

Bill Tanner, Legal Aid Society Supervisor, 2101 N. Tustin Avenue, Santa Ana, Ca, 92705 (714) 571-5277, (800) 963-7717. Dear Bill, Regarding our conversation in the Civic Center, of August 25, 2016, I just need to find an address to serve the Salvation Army. It should not take two weeks and include buckets of hostility from the obvious resources: Connie: What is all of this (hostile, looking at my file)! Nancy Wood: This is the case, this is the due diligence; the sheriff was not able to serve her. Connie: Who? Carmen Martinez? Nancy Wood: Yes, he said she evaded numerous times, at the store and at the Anaheim office. Finally she said that she no longer works there. Connie: Well, that's it then, there is nothing I can do for you, you are done; if the Sheriff can't serve her you are done; there is no case. Nancy Wood: Thank you, good bye. There are numerous alternative means of serving a defendant.

I emailed the volunteer division several times to donate my time. I never received any response. I downloaded all the necessary paperwork to volunteer which is long and detailed and took time and effort to fill out. I mailed this to the main volunteer office. I never received any response. Even if they didn't need me, and even if I didn't have enough to offer, a "thank you" would have been nice.
