Mission Statement

The National Trust for Historic Preservation provides leadership, education and advocacy to save America's diverse historic places and revitalize our communities.

Villa Finale, a National Trust Historic Site, acts as a base for its signature initiatives; residential historic preservation, support of preservation projects and educating the community about the importance of material culture.

Description

Villa Finale is the last home of civic leader, preservationist and collector Walter Mathis. The house, located in San Antonio's King William National Historic District, was the first of over a dozen properties Mr. Mathis partially or fully restored within the neighborhood. Villa Finale contains Walter Mathis's eclectic 12,000-piece collection of fine and decorative arts.
