Plan party theme and purchase party supplies for children living at an emergency shelter. Able to raise or provide own funds to purchase party supplies. DUTIES Plan party theme, decorations, and activities (i.e. Space Exploration, Beach Bash, Sports, or Art Extravaganza) Plan small bags of party favors ( no food or candy may be in these bags for safety) Estimate expenses and collect funds Purchase supplies for: Party decorations. Room in which party will take place has three long 6 ft tables and one round table if wanting to buy table coverings. Party activity supplies, enough for 20 children. Party favor bag supplies, enough for 20 children. Assemble party favor bags. Put all party supplies into one box. Kits will go to either youth, families, or adults served by our Housing Services or school-based whole family support services. Volunteer needs to be able to raise or provide own funds to purchase supplies. Purchase supplies either Family-size or Individual-size: small bag to fit supplies per kit body soap toothpaste, toothbrushes Optional supplies: feminine hygiene products, products for African-American hair, deodorant, shampoo and/or conditioner, hairbrush or comb, wash cloth, safety razor, hand sanitizer liquid or wipes. Put supplies into the bag Email to arrange kit pick-up or drop-off QUALIFICATIONS Able to raise or provide own funds to purchase kit supplies LOCATION: REMOTE = You may do this volunteer job anywhere! The primary responsibility of the conversation partner program is to help facilitate the development of language skills, build confidence, and network with clients in meaningful ways. Conversations with native English speakers help ESL learners become more proficient in language acquisition thereby becoming more successful academically. Consequently, native and ESL learners are able to make connections, expand cultural understandings, gain professional contacts, and enhance their life experience.
