Mission Statement

The mission of Metropolitan Ballet Theatre is to train young dancers in the art of classical ballet and promote excellence based on the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. Each dancer will be taught with respect, love and responsibility.

The goals of Metropolitan Ballet Theatre are exposure to performing, familiarization with different dance styles, choreography and choreographers, and the nurturing of dancers into the artists of the future.

Description

Metropolitan Ballet Theatre focuses on the needs of its dancers as it conducts pre-professional classes for students ages 10 through 18 in ballet, pointe, character, drama/music theory, and modern dance. Private coaching is available as are classes for professional dancers and instructors. Training is offered for younger children ages 5 through 10, who aspire to audition for the pre-professional program. Creative Movement, a pre-ballet program, is available to children ages 3 and 4.

The purpose of the Theatre is to create an atmosphere of self-competiton and inner growth, nurtured with love and mutual respect. Through this process, students learn the values of discipline, commitment, hard work, passion, integrity, respect, trust and excellence.
