Mission Statement

Freedom Valley Disability Enablement, Inc. has been established to assist persons with disabilities in the achievement of independent living goals. Freedom Valley recognizes the importance of individudal choice, consumer direction, and personal responsibility. In that regard, Freedom Valley promotes individual and community options to maximize independence for persons with disabilities.

Description

Freedom Valley is a Center for Independent Living (CIL), a community-based, not-for-profit organization operated by and for individuals with disabilities.

Originating in 1986, FVDC now serves Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

Services provided include:

Information and referral to resources

Peer-support counseling

Individual advocacy to assist in cutting through the "red tape" that often separates persons with disabilities from benefits, products, and services that best fit their needs.

Independent living skills training.
