Mission Statement

WalkforWater2010.org was formed by Stephen Axelson, an Eagle Scout candidate in Oakton, Virginia. Stephen is organizing a 5K run/walk on May 16, 2010 to raise money to build wells in rural subSaharan African villages, as part of Africare's Well Fund. The walk will be held at Fairfax Corner Center. Stephen's mission is to provide an enjoyable and fun experience that will not only raise financial assistance but also public awareness of the water crisis in Africa, and how it impacts families, health and education.
