Mission Statement

The Youth Board’s mission is "We are dedicated to advancing the physical, mental, social, and moral well-being of all Ulster County youth and promoting the prevention of youth delinquency and crime. We accomplish this by taking both active and supportive roles in proposing policy and program to the Director of the Ulster County Youth Bureau; advising the County Executive and the Legislature in matters of aid, supplementation, and coordination of public and private youth agencies; encouraging local governments to participate in the healthy development of youth; and providing youth empowerment opportunities through advocacy, programming, and community collaboration initiatives."

Description

The Ulster County Youth Board, a voluntary, representative citizen’s advisory body, assists the Youth Bureau in attaining it’s mission.

The Ulster County Youth Bureau recommends policies that promote youth development and prevent delinquency, plan and coordinate activities devoted to the well-being and protection of all youth in Ulster County, and expand public awareness of youth issues.
