Mission Statement

The Men's Health Forum began its history in 2000 as the African American Men's Health Forum (AAMHF). The Forum was a result of the community's desire to reduce the gap in health outcomes for this segment of our community. Recognizing that this gap in health outcomes also impact many other communities, the 2010 Men's Health Forum will expand the focus to include all underserved men, and all activities will be offered in English and Spanish.

Description

The Men's Health Forum provides medically underserved men with a complete health care experience. Information and education is available on a range of health-related topics, such as prostate cancer, colon cancer, diabetes, tips for leading healthy lifestyles, stroke, sexual health, high blood pressure, and more.

In past years, attendees have also had the opportunity to receive wellness check-ups (i.e. blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.) and other testing for diseases, such as prostate and colorectal cancers and HIV/AIDS.

All services are provided to participants at no cost. We are able to provide this free community resource as a result of financial and in-kind donations from local and nationally-recognized groups, organizations, as well as the tireless support from an army of volunteers
