Mission Statement
Holland Tulip Time Festival, Inc., stages a world-class festival and popular events for area residents and visitors that showcase the community and the tulip and celebrate Dutch heritage and culture.
Description
Because of an idea from a Holland High School biology teacher and implemented by the City of Holland with the planting of tulips, hundreds of thousands of visitors have enjoyed millions of tulips since 1929. Popular demand grew each year, as the thousands of spectators soared to hundreds of thousands, and the days of the festival were not only increased, but pageantry, costumes and parades were added to produce a week-long festival that emphasized Holland's Dutch Heritage. Readers Digest named Tulip Time the "Best Small Town Festival in America" because of the extensive community participation. Many volunteers are needed to make the festival a success. Our volunteer program enhances the festival experience for residents and visitors while providing a meaningful experience for our volunteers.
