Since 1909, Mental Health America of Illinois (MHAI) has worked to promote mental health, prevent mental illnesses and improve the care and treatment of persons suffering from mental and emotional disorders.

  • Reducing the stigma associated with mental health issues;

  • Increasing public understanding of mental health issues, prevention efforts and mental illnesses;

  • Enhancing the quality, quantity and coordination of mental health services in Illinois; and

  • Decreasing the incidences, recurrences and consequences of mental and emotional disorders.
