Mission Statement

The Minnesota Housing Partnership (MHP) was incorporated in 1989 as a membership-based, nonprofit organization designed to unite advocates and developers from across the state in their efforts to alleviate the shortage of affordable housing.

Description

MHP offers financial and technical assistance to nonprofit developers of affordable housing, works for legislation that guarantees safe and affordable housing for all Minnesotans, and coordinates planning and resources through an effective network of local-regional-statewide partnerships. This includes a collaborative educational campaign, Housing Minnesota, designed to effect positive change in the public's perception of affordable housing and to translate that enlightenment into the production of more affordable housing though-out Minnesota.MHP administers one of the largest VISTA programs: there are approximately 40 VISTAs working at local sites and as a network to alleviate the housing crisis in rural and urban Minnesota. Local sponsors include Habitat for Humanity, community action agencies and other housing nonprofits.
