Mission Statement

The Riverbender.com Community Center strives to bring many communities together by providing a safe, fun and affordable establishment free of alcohol, drugs and tobacco for teens. It pledges to maintain an environment in which all teens feel welcome and are free to be themselves. A place where teens from all walks of life are free from negative peer pressure, intimidation and mean spirited comments and actions. The center promises to deliver educational opportunities and the freedom of expression through multi-media, music, fine arts and performing art.

Description

The Riverbender.com Community Center is a 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art entertainment and educational facility located in the heart of Downtown Alton, IL. The facility is primarily geared toward students in grades 6 - 12, but there are events and educational opportunities for people of all ages. The Riverbender.com Community Center is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that provides services to the youth of Alton and the surrounding Riverbend Communities. The Riverbender.com Community Center has been developed to provide teens a safe and fun alternative to at-risk behaviors and negative peer pressure.

The Riverbender.com Community Center is a huge facility that allows kids to come and be who they are without judgement! It's cheap for the kids and as someone who started out as a volunteer, the employees welcomed me in graciously. I loved that they had actual jobs for me to do so I felt like I was accomplishing something while I was there volunteering!
