Mission Statement

As staff at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, we serve at-risk youth throughout the Pomona area. We work to provide families and youth with additional educational opportunities beyond the classroom. We serve the Pomona community by connecting Cal Poly volunteers with at-risk youth through programs such as The Homework Help Center at the Pomona Library, The Storytelling Initiative at the Boys and Girls Club of Pomona, and through the Academy for Literacy through the Arts at the Downtown Center in Pomona.

Description

We serve Pomona youth through after-school homework help, through Family Fun Days on every 4th Saturday of the month where youth participate in free activities and take home free books, through an after-school storytelling program that encourages creativity and growth of character, and through our AmeriCorps days of service involving community clean-ups, literacy programs and a volunteer fair.
