Noisivelvet is a non-profit advocacy for the arts and strives to bring art into the lives of the public. Since noisivelvet is a grass-roots organization, there are many opportunities for students to develop leadership roles and skills. I had an internship with noisivelvet last semester and it gave me the freedom to learn what I wanted to learn about publishing, while creating a Publishing Assistance Program for writers. The most challenging aspect is fundraising. This organization would definitely benefit from the knowledge a business major, marketing major or planning major to really bring it to its full potential. This would look excellent on a resume because it gives interesting talking points in an interview and it also makes the resume more diverse. Working with Joe Baldwin (Founder) is a pleasure because he is flexible while giving concrete guidance.
