Mission Statement

The goal of our program is to stimulate children's interest in reading and contribute to achieving the America Reads Challenge goal that every 8 year old child be able to read.

Description

Creating Readers is a program that is designed to motivate children ages 4-9 to read. There are four components to the program: weekly one-on-one reading sessions filled with learning activities with a trained volunteer, Creating Readers take home kits which parents may share with their children, regularly scheduled workshops to help parents encourage their children's learning at home, and parent information sessions on specific topics based on the group's needs.
