During these uncertain times, how can we help?

The Department of Animal Care & Control approaches the public & safety issues involving animals using a proactive approach. Local & State legistation is used to address pet overpopulation and responsible pet ownership issues. The success of the approach would not be possible without positive community outreach and education which is the job of our humane education department along with the support of every employee on staff. Protection of both citizens and animals along with efforts to minimize euthanasia of unwanted animals through spay/neuter promotion and responsible adoptions all strongly reflect the Fort Wayne Humane Society origins of this agency.
Animal Care & Control is responsible for public health and safety issues involving animals. Volunteers are primarily involved in the adoption program. Other areas include humane education, financial assistance for spay/neuter surgeries and lost & found.
