Mission Statement

More than a century age, conservationist John Muir challenged Americans to "do something for wildness and make the mountains glad". Today, the Sierra Club is still meeting that challenge to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet. The Sierra Club believes that citizen action can alter and redefine local, national, and global environmental priorities. And the Sierra Club's experimented, respected, and committed fellowship of community volunteers will lead the way.
