Mission Statement

To find responsible loving homes for greyhounds, which fail to qualify or no longer qualify for the racetrack. To acquaint the public with the desirability of greyhounds as pets and inform them of the availability of the dogs for adoption.

Description

GPA-NW receives dogs from all over the United States and Mexico. These dogs either fail to qualify for the racetrack, have been injured or are somehow of no use to the racing industries. GPA-NW is unique in that all dogs that we take in spend time in a foster home getting to know what their new life will be. The dogs are vetted and tested for cat and small animal tolerance. GPA-NW is an entirely volunteer run organization. We have 2 main fundraisers throughout the year. We also have 3 - 6 monthly events in the community to introduce and educate the public about these wonderful companions. In 2009 we placed 145 dogs in their forever homes.
