The mission of the Volunteer & Civic Engagement Center is to provide the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Illinois Springfield with quality service opportunities that promote the social good.

Description

Ultimately, our goal is to fulfill UIS's mission to make a fundamental difference in the world, starting here in Springfield.

Our strategies are focused on impact, both in the short-term and over time. We seek to:

  • Provide quality service opportunities to UIS students, faculty, and staff
  • Build the leadership abilities of UIS students
  • Increase awareness of our university's civic and social responsibilities
  • Foster and support campus-community partnerships
  • Continually expand our programs to make service an inseparable part of the experiences of every UIS community member.
